It`s always difficult to explain in words just how good an effects unit can be. The `DJ Effector` from Pioneer set`s the standard which other manufacturers should follow. Cleverly, this unit is split into two halves: The left hand side of the Effector includes the beat counter which can automatically calculate the BPM or can be manually overridden for more complicated beats. The five effects on this side of the unit work directly based on the BPM count and the `depth` of the effect is controlled using the trackball. Unlike the Kaoss pad the unit naturally `remembers` your settings when you take your finger away. The Effectors right hand side has five alternative effects what are designed to be manually controlled. The effects are manipulated by the large CD player style jog-wheel. You can use the the two sets of effects separately, or you can combine them both to produce some mind blowing results! The isolator is a great tool allowing you to cut to just the bass, mid or treble - or indeed apply the effect to just one of these bands.
