The Hozelock Ecocel Pond Filter is a more basic biological filter. It can be later enhanced by the addition of a separate Vorton UV Clarifier. Water enters the unit via a spray head, which is evenly distributed over a foam sheet where the solid particles in the water are trapped. Almost solids free, the water then passes through plastic biomedia where beneficial bacteria cleanse pollutants. The amount of biomedia contained in the filter increases in direct proportion to the size of the pond/filter to support a greater number of fish. Purified water then passes up an outlet tube and back into the pond. The viewing hatch in the filter can be used to observe the internal operation of the filter, in particular whether any maintenance is needed. Hose size 20-25mm Ideal pond size 2500 litres.
