A heritage, very sweet, red variety, aromatic, with good flavour. The Orchard Pig or Gloucester Old Spot was traditionally raised on windfall apples and whey in the Severn Valley, where it originated. All of our full size fruit trees are grafted on strong, vigorous root stocks to provide high yeilds and an ultimate (un-pruned height) height of 8-12 feet but they can easily be kept at a height of 6-8 feet for the smaller garden, if a more compact tree is required. Extra heavy grade trees are supplied at a minimum 150cms (5ft+) tall and should be fruiting well within 2 years of planting.
